Isa Felder – Brazilian, holds a degree in journalism from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A professional who has worked in Brazil and Switzerland for 20 years in the field of communication. Isa holds a certificate in the pedagogical field from SVEB and has studied translation at the Schule für Angewandte Linguistik (SAL). She has worked as a language teacher, translator and proof-reader for several institutions in Switzerland and since September 2017 has been the president of the World Language School association – as well as its PR. She teaches German for beginners at the association.
Nelson Adao – Born in Angola, Nelson moved to France with his family when he was 2 years old. At the age of 11 he moved to Switzerland. Nelson completed a Kaufmännische Ausbildung (commercial apprenticeship). He holds a Bachelor Degree in Literature from the Schule für Angewandte Linguistik (SAL). Currently Nelson works as a German and French teacher for adults in several language schools in Switzerland. Since 2017, Nelson has been the vice-president at the World Language School association as well as its treasurer. He teaches German and French at the association.
Cláudia Lopes – Brazilian, she was born in Rio de Janeiro. Claudia holds a degree in Language and Literature (Portuguese and Italian) from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She lived in Italy for seven years, during that time she was able to deepen her knowledge of the literature and Italian and language and continue with her studies. She worked for two years as a Portuguese (Brazilian and European) teacher at the Università degli Studi di Bari, Italy. Claudia has lived in Zurich since 2009, where she works as a translator and teaches Portuguese and Italian. Currently she works as a Portuguese and Italian teacher and media manager at the World Language School association. She is also administrator and editor of the blog and Facebook page Affresco della Lingua Italiana.
Luana Pizzi – Brazilian, holds a degree in Language and Literature from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) – São Paulo, Brazil. Specialised in Literary Theory and Critics, has worked as a researcher in the field of intellectual property. Luana has experience as an English teacher for children and adults. Currently Luana is pursuing an M.A. in Language and Communication at Basel University and teaches English at the World Language School association – WLS.
Andréa Vedovato Berchtold – Brazilian, holds a degree in Pedagogy from the Universidade Católica de Santos (UNISANTOS), São Paulo, Brazil. She also holds 2 Proficiency Certificates: TOEFL (Test of English as a Second Language) and Michigan (Proficiency Certificate issued by the University of Michigan – USA). Andréa has 18 years of experience as an English teacher, teaching students of all ages and levels and has also worked for 4 years as the Educational manager in 2 branches of a well-known language school chain in Brazil. Currently Andréa teaches English at the World Language School.
Barbara Ballester – she was born in USA, grew up in Argentina and moved to Switzerland in 1995. She holds a master’s degree in Psychology from the Universität Zürich as well as a degree in Spanish language and literature from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (Arg.) and a Music degree from the Conservatorio Provincial Felix T. Garzón in Córdoba, (Arg.). She started teaching children and adults at a very young age, both in individual classes and groups, developing a profound love for teaching and learning throughout the last 30 years. She has three children and is a passionate reader and cook. Currently she teaches piano and music theory and has recently joined the team at the World Language School for teaching Spanish and German.
